This was a very challenging and interesting house that I built in 2005 in Errington BC. It is a round log post and beam style. Nearly 400 pieces were cut and shaped over a five month period. No two pieces where alike and no test fitting was done. In three weeks we assembled all the parts and there was not one mistake in the bunch. I particularly enjoyed using a boulder from the land as a short post above the entry door, and inventing an unusual notch in the living room. I also had local carver Bill Helin personalize some knee braces and carve a raven’s head on a beam end.
