My name is Dana A. Baetz.
I’ve been working with wood my whole life. As a boy I spent most of my spare time climbing trees and building tree houses.
Since then, I’ve been building tree houses in the form of log homes and timber frames for the last 25 years. I’ve also taught log home building in Japan, Germany, Denmark, Romania and Sweden with world renowned log home expert B.Allan Mackie.
Recently I was the construction manager for a timber frame resort in Ucluelet B.C.
I originally purchased a portable sawmill to compliment my log home building business and eventually have taken on milling as a full time occupation. I find it very rewarding to meet homeowners and help them to transform their trees into a valuable, eco friendly, building product..
Having built my own personal log home helps me understand the needs of a home owner / builder.
